| Our young horses spend their first several years on open pasture, developing strength, confidence, and proper equine socialization skills. Since the Lusitano horse matures at about 7 years, we typically start our riding horses under saddle at 4 to 5 years of age. They soon become comfortable working cattle and being ridden in wide open spaces, in addition to the usual round pen and arena schooling. With this solid foundation, our horses are prepared to pursue the riding discipline of your choice - Doma Vaquera, classical equitation or dressage, bloodless bullfighting, and others. |
